Bacillus Calmette-Guerin 81 mg dry substance. 

Immunostimulant. Carcinoma bladder (prophylaxis and treatment)- BCG is used intravesically for prophylaxis and treatment of primary (multifocal, high grade) and relapsed superficial transitional cell bladder carcinoma. It is used to reduce frequency of tumor recurrence after transurethral resection and to eliminate existing tumors, including (Ta and T1 tumors) and carcinoma in situ (CIS tumors) with or without associated papillary tumors. It is not indicated for treatment of papillary tumors occuring alone. 

Immunodepression, fever, urinary tract infection, tuberculosis, hematuria, gross-existing, impaired immune response, sensitivity to BCG live. 

Usual adult dose: Intracavitary, 1 vial (81 mg), reconstituted and then diluted with 50 ml of sterile, preservative-free 0.9% sodium chloride solution, to a final volume of 53 ml (less in patients with reduced bladder capacity), instilled into the empty bladder and retained for one to two hours (depending on irritative symptoms and the patient's ability to retain the solution). The procedure is repeated once a week for six weeks, followed by one treatment given at three, six, twelve, eighteen and twenty-four months following the initial treatment or according to response.
